Title: Recognition of sign language
The talk will be given on Tuesday, April 26 at 9:00 in room L220.
Abstract: Seminar presents the leveraging of the image processing and recognition techniques to build useful human-computer interfaces. Based on speaker's experience and results of her research team, a recognition of sign language will be presented and usage in some applications for severely disabled people - to help them to communicate with others if they can not speak. Presentations includes following topics: recognition of hand gestures to support communication between deaf and hearing persons, hand shape recognition for human-computer interaction and head gestures based vision systems supporting communication of non-verbal disabled people. Further, the following problems will be discussed: hearing impaired persons in society, problems related to hand gestures recognition etc.
