Seminars are organized by Department of Computer Graphics and Multimedia at the Faculty of Information Technology, Brno University of Technology and Natural Language Processing Laboratory at the Faculty of Informatics, Masaryk University, Brno. The seminars take place at VUT FIT Brno, Božetechova 2, L220, usually on Friday at 10:00.

Inspired by the work of Viola and Jones, many authors have proposed variations of the face (object) detection approach based on cascades of boosted classifiers. In this talk, I will summarize many of those propositions including novel image features, weak learners, boosting algorithms, training strategies and classifier structures. The foccus of the talk will be to present the main directions of research in this field.
