Annotation
This paper surveys the field of evolutionary hardware design, where evolutionary algorithms are used to create new implementations of digital circuits, analog circuits, antennas and other devices. Advantages and current limitations of evolutionary design are demonstrated using case studies. Implications to design methodology, patenting and other areas are also discussed.
