Abstract

When simulation involves inputs and outputs in the form of real-world signals, either continuous or discrete, it is necessary for the simulation to run in "real-time". In other words, the simulation must be capable of running fast enough on the digital computer that the computed outputs, in response to real-time inputs, occur at the exact time these outputs would take place in the real world.
