Annotation
Majority of current fingerprint identification systems is based on minutiae detection. New, but very important task for such systems is semantic conformance testing. Significant part of conformance testing is detection of fingerprint area in image. Due to precise detection of fingerprint area is possible to determine, whether minutia extractor detected minutiae outside the fingerprint area or at its borders, where in fact none exists.
