Learning objectives:
  To obtain common overview of information system branch. To get basic knowledge of information systems based on the relational database technology. To get basic knowledge of communication part of IS based on portal technology.
  Information system as a special case of a system. Kinds of informarion systems OLAP and OLTP. History of information systems. Technology of information system with relational database system building. Portal type of information system. Technology of client and server programming (JavaScript and PHP). Technology of XML language.
Knowledge and skills required for the course:
  relational database theory, computer networks and protocols
Learning outcomes and competencies:
  Ability to model especially economic reality in the information system. Ability and knowledge to implement information systems under database technologies in the internet environment.

  1. Information and information system, model and its realization, OLAP a OLTP.
  2. Example of information system - internet shop, design methodology I.
  3. Example of information system - internet shop, design methodology II. 
  4. Information system as documents circulation, HTML as the document type, DOM 
  5. Server part of information system - introduction into PHP I.
  6. Server part of information system - introduction into PHP II.
  7. PHP and MySQL.
  8. Example of information system - internet shop, server part realization.
  9. Introduction into JavaScript. 
  10. Client JavaScript.
  11. Example of information system - internet shop, client part realization.
  12. XML technology. 
  13. XML technology II..

Controlled instruction:
  The minimal number of points which can be obtained from the final exam is 25. Otherwise, no points will be assign to a student.

  Mid-term writing checking. Continuous checking of the project solution by the supervisor.
Exam prerequisites:
  At least 25 points obtainable during the semester (checking of the continuous and project).
