Learning objectives:
  The course is concentrated on general German. Note: this is a two-semester course
Description:
  The course is for beginners in German. Students are introduced to the language with the emphasis on listening and acquiring basic grammar skills together with fast and direct mastering of communicative skills in everyday situations.
Learning outcomes and competencies:
  General understanding based on reading and listening comprehension. Ability to respond adequately incommon situations, to inform, ask questions, ask for information, be able to order or ban.

  • Countries, occupations, fields of study, question words, personal pronouns
  • Occupations,r egular verbs, verb HAVE
  • Personal questions, verb BE, word order in questions and positive sentences
  • Countries and towns, the alphabet, expressing the negative
  • Obtaining information, definite and indefinite articles and pronoun KEIN, possessive adjectives
  • Family and relatives, subject and object case of indef. article, adjective suffixes after indef. article
  • Rooms and furniture, object case - def. and indef., article, possessive adjectives, personal pronouns
  • Sightseeing, shopping, plural, expressing measure, amount and price
  • House and flat, past tense -préteritum- of regular verbs, BE, HAVE
  • Food and drinks, verbs möchte
  • In a restaurant, coordinative conjuctions
  • Means of transport, present teuse of irregular verbs
  • Travelling by train, telling the time, imperative, the main-sentence word order
  • Holidays and travelling, pronoun WELCH-, verb WISSEN
  • Accommodation, hotel, subordinate clause, indirect question
  • Spending the time- weekend, free time, past tense(Perfekt)
