Squeak Demonstration Images

Squeak "Demo Reels"

This folder contains two large demonstration "playgrounds" that each illustrate a range of Squeak applications, as well as a "getting started" virtual image for new users.

Please Note:

The content of the Demos and Squeak_Swiki folders have been assembled from the contributions of the large, diverse open source Squeak community. As such, their accuracy and workability cannot be guaranteed: Servers go away, server structure gets reorganized, and platform peculiarities may arise. NO GUARANTEE IS OFFERED FOR THE CONTENT OF THOSE FOLDERS! Do not call Technical Support if you find errors, bad links, or other problems with the content of these folders.

In each folder, there are one or more Squeak virtual images that consist of a number of nested projects. These images and their projects lead the user through a series of examples of Squeak applications. You can click on the sub-project's icon in each project to go to the next step of the demonstration.

To run these, start the virtual machine for your computer with one of the virtual image files as the argument.

The Getting Started virtual image is a good starting point for new users, it includes a simple tutorial.
The Camp Smalltalk Demo includes projects that illustrate various styles of Squeak look and feel, multimedia applications, and advanced user interfaces. Use the virtual image Squeak2.7.image in this folder.
The German Smalltalk User's Group Demo folder contains a large multi-project demo image called Squeak2.9.image.
