Outreach Group Factsheet


The Nation1 Outreach Group aims to:

formulate efficient plans to raise awareness of Nation1 and drive targeted audiences to its website; and
act on these plans coinciding with the launch of Nation1 (July 2000).

Identification
Identify Nation1 Aims:

To create a decentralised, and participatory worldwide youth network, utilising internet technologies, that will link young people. To provide a forum to find common cause and work together to achieve goals.

To connect, to learn, to empower.

Identify and profile Nation1 promotional audience:

The audience for the Nation1 website includes:

Young people aged 10-25, but focusing on 12-18.
Adults who are important/influential/likely to assist.

Nation1 promotional audiences (those that we contact directly) have been identified as:

Mass media aimed at youth and / or containing material likely to be of interest to the youth movement. (Indirectly targeting 1. Youth activists 2. Youth in general.)
Partner organisations held in high esteem of influential adults and who would be interested in circulating materials to those adults on behalf of Nation1. (Indirectly targeting influential adults likely to be of help to Nation1.)

Identify Nation1's 'advertisable' qualities.

Targeted at youth (via mass media):
Revolutionary (in both literal and lateral senses!).
Youth-run.
Legitimate; receives strong backing.
Participatory; chances to become part of its administration.
Has huge potential.
Offers opportunities to meet new people and discover new ideas.
Targeted at influential adults (via the Nation1 network of partner associations):
