I was first introduced to Smalltalk in 1984 through the Digitalk/V implementation. Even though it was terrific, marketplace realities forced a departure into C/Unix/Oracle/Java.

Recently, after witnessing the API bloat in later versions of Java, and the fracture of the marketplace (i.e. Microsoft), I started looking for something else.

I'm currently attempting to learn Squeak 2.7 and hope to write some useful applications.

I would like to see Squeak become a competitor to Java, Perl and Visual Basic.
