To use the 68K VMs for Squeak 2.3 or above, you must have CFM-68K. It was included in MacOS 8.0 or later, but not before. You can get it from Apple
ftp://ftp.apple.com/Apple_Support_Area/Apple_Software_Updates/English-North_American/Macintosh/System/CFM-68K/
To use Sockets in Squeak 2.8 you must have Open Transport 1.1.2 or better installed. (The 68K version of Squeak still used the older MacTCP) It can be downloaded from

If you download the .sea file and it refuses to open, giving a -39 error (which means premature end of file), you can drag and drop it on Stuffit Expander and it will unstuff properly. -- Chris Johnson
Make sure you set the StuffIt Expander to not translate CR/LF line ends. The following is for Expander 4.5:
- Open StuffIt expander
- Select "Preferences..." in the "File" menu.
- Select "Cross Plattorm" in the list.
- Select the radio button "Never"
This one is really nasty, as earlier Expander versions would always extract files as binary. -- Hans-Martin Mosner
