I've been a long time fan of Smalltalk, but have rarely found opportunities that have allowed me to use it - either professionally or as a hobbiest. Squeak permits me to use it again as a hobbiest for the first time in over a decade.

My current interest is porting T-Gen to Squeak. As of 1/29/99, I have the core of T-Gen (sans UI) up and running under VisualWorks 3.0 (non-commercial). I needed to do this so that I could better understand T-Gen's use of the Signal and Exception classes which are not present in Squeak. Next up is gaining a better understanding of T-Gen's use of MVC. From there I can start moving it to Squeak.
