Abstract

This paper describes an analysis of texture for similarity based search and retrieval of image data. The image is filtered with a bank of orientation and scale tuned Gabor filters, as described in MPEG-7. The energy and energy deviation in a set of frequency channels are then used as the components of the texture descriptor and saved in a database.
