• PhD. in applied cybernetics, VUT Brno, 1984

Professional career:

• Service division, Tesla Brno company (1966-1968).
• Research associate at Computer Dept., Technical University of Brno, (1968-1974)
• Head of technical centre of mainframe computers (1975 -1991)
• Extra-mural lecturer (1972-1991)
• A 6-weeks stay at the Bristol University,Tempus project 0449/92
• Associate professor in computer science, Faculty of Information Technology, Brno University of Technology, 2003

Research interests:

• 1968-1974 Synthesis of logic networks, design of computer blocks
• 1975-1991 Digital integrated circuit layout, IO CAD, methods and systems of computer design
• 1991- Applied microcontrollers, embedded system, research of fuzzy development systems and techniques of its applications, applied genetic algorithms and fuzy systems in engineering practice
• 1998 - Evolutionary algorithm based on probability distribution (EDAs)
