Abstract

The project aims to robotize existing and new workplaces for PCB testing to optimize the use of a qualified workforce. No major modifications to existing workplaces or work or logistics procedures will be necessary to deploy the system. The safe collaborating robot will, using advanced computer vision methods, pick bulky PCBs from the boxes, store them automatically in the tester, and put them to the desired location according to the test result. One robot serves up to two workplaces to maximize its use. In normal operation, after brief training, the system operator, including adjusting the settings for a new type of PCB, will be able to handle a standard worker, thereby reducing the cost to the end customer. Another savings is created by robotizing the workplace itself. Currently, each workplace is usually run by one worker who must perform a very stereotypical activity. The possibility of reassigning such a worker to more creative work is a welcome help in today's complex labor market situation. To view the current status, adjust settings and operating parameters, a portable device with augmented reality will be used to display information directly in the robot workspace. In the minimal version, the system will be deployed to the customer during the first year of the project and the knowledge gained from this test operation will be integrated. The main result of the project will be a functional sample of the equipment, whose further development and commercialization will be continued by the coordinator of the project - KINALI. Within the framework of the FIT BUT project, a set of software libraries for visualization and configuration of the robotic workplace will be developed using an augmented reality, which will then be released as an open-source and will serve for teaching and research purposes. Several publications will be produced during the project.
