Abstract
In the scope of the BioFinger project "Evaluation of Fingerprint Recognition Technologies" was tested the performance of systems for fingerprint recognition in the verification modus. The background of this project was the possible integration of fingerprint technology into German credentials with the aim to enhance the verification possibility of the credential's owner in different checking systems for arrival and accommodation in various countries. With respect to increased demands on credentials, e.g. persistence for 10 years, the influence of aging on fingerprint verification was tested too. In addition, different surrounding influences to sensors (physical functionality, optical resolution, lifetime, rolled and tipped fingerprints etc.) were tested. This point has a high importance, because it should be ensured that the compatibility among different sensors will be guaranteed, with regard to the long lifetime of such documents.
