We are children from around the world. From Mexico to Morocco and from the United Kingdom to Greece we are collaborating on a project that we hope will make a huge difference to our lives, and the lives of young people all over the world. Today, communication technologies can empower young people, allowing us to reach across geographic, economic and cultural borders and share resources - among ourselves and with previous generations. This project stemmed from the Junior Summit 1998, held at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
We invite your government to support this world-changing project - an Internet network, that will link youth for understanding, give young people a voice in the future, making us proud of our planet by playing an active role in it. We call it "Nation1".
Nation1 will be an online environment in where community services, multiculturalism, tolerance and peace are promoted. Every effort will be made to ensure wide access, and emphasis will be placed on multilingual abilities. Nation1 will encourage and support local action projects that stems from discussion online and will provide channels of communication, between children, NGOs, educators and adult mentors.
This is a major initiative, one of unprecedented scale and intended impact. Futhermore, we are children ourselves, who understand the needs of our peers. Please find enclosed further details on our specific requirements. Your assistance in fulfilling our needs will be greatly appreciated, and your support as a leader of world stature would be most helpful,
