Brief introduction to n1 technology

Nation1 is a unique initiative in that it makes use of advanced technology to provide easy to use tools for today's youth. One fundamental principle of Nation1 is that it must be multilingual, in order to reach youth from all around the world, not just those that speak english. Nation1 will combine machine translation and the services of human translators in order to make the best transition between languages. Every part of Nation1 will be multilingual - the chat rooms, forums, email, action tools, and tutorials are among those that will be accessible by youth from all nations, of all languages. Another technical feature of Nation1 will be its databases. Covering areas such as the Action group's people finder database, a database of youth organizations, and databases of upcoming events, Nation1 will store a wealth of information free to use by all of its youth citizens. Nation1 plans to collaborate with other organizations on this technology, reducing replication of data and providing a broad range of data and tools to its citizens. Even more noticeable will be Nation1's customization techniques. Nation1 citizens will be able to customize the way they view the site, reading in their native language, finding out about action in areas that they are specifically interested in, and keeping track of interest areas, friends, and colleagues.
