Doug Way

I became hooked on Smalltalk after working on a VisualWorks project (GPLUS) at Ford Motor Co. for several years.

I'm currently working for RiskMetrics Group Inc., in software research. (See http://www.riskmetrics.com.) It's not completely open-ended research, but open enough to include occasional fiddling around with Squeak. :-) Although I do most of my Squeaking on my own time.

I've put together a small list of miscellaneous enhancements/fixes I've written for Squeak on my web space at http://www.mindspring.com/~dway/smalltalk/. It includes an enhancement for a show-only-when-necessary scrollbar, among other things.

A somewhat bigger Squeak project I'm working on now is creating a new "stacking" Smalltalk class browser, tentatively code-named Whisker. Some screenshots and further description of the ideas are at http://www.mindspring.com/~dway/smalltalk/whisker.html. Anyone who's interested in this subject feel free to email me at dway@mat.net.

Otherwise, here are a few other interests of mine:

http://www.mindspring.com/~dway/bebound.html (a shareware game I wrote for the Mac awhile back)
http://www.mindspring.com/~dway/impatients.html (the band I used to play in)
http://www.mindspring.com/~dway/town.html (biomorphic dinnerware... industrial design at its best)
